Automatic Door Lock Device for Hyundai/Kia/Genesis

Description:

Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis cars lack automatic door locking upon exit. This device addresses this issue by automatically locking the doors ten seconds after all doors are closed. To prevent accidental lockouts, the device will not engage if your key fob or phone is left inside the vehicle, unless the car is in accessory mode.

• Continue to use whichever method you prefer to gain access to your car (fob, phone, key card.)  Nothing changes when you install the door lock device.
• I highly advise you consider the trailer connector version for easiest install! EV6 Light trim/Ioniq 5 SE Standard Range (small batteries) don't have trailer light wiring harness and will need to be installed with wire taps under front seat. 
• EV6 owners without automatic unlocking doors, this device adds auto unlock!

Already have trailer tow lighting installed on your car?

• • You can install this device with wire taps on the tow hitch harness if you like or you can install under the seat on select vehicles. It won't interfere with trailer lighting operation. Those instructions are located at the end of the instructions for your specific cars trailer light wiring harness install linked above.
  • Order the wire tap version for your specific car.

Tools you may need:

• Pliers
• Flat head screwdriver
• 10mm wrench

Limitations:

• If the car is on or placed into utility mode and you leave the car, it will not lock
• If the car is in accessory mode and you leave the car it will lock. You will have to unlock with the app.
• You can continue using smartphone, watch or key card entry and start as usual.
• If you close and leave the car before your passenger doors or rear hatch are closed, it will auto lock the car after all remaining doors are shut
  
• Installing the device causes minor driver's seat movement before starting the car with 'easy access' enabled. Start the car within 5 seconds or disable 'easy access' to avoid this. You can view the behavior in a video here
• If you get rid of your car and get a different Hyundai, Kia or Genesis, the device likely isn't compatible with your new car. Contact me if you have questions.
